Abstract

The concept is considered, which served to form a new branch of applied industrial knowled-ge - production and operational management. The essence of operations has been determined. The analysis made it possible to identify the following stages of a typical operational consulting process: clarifying the application and the subject of consulting, analyzing the problem, planning, developing and testing alternative solutions to the problem, developing systemic measures for implementation, presenting the final report to the client, making changes by agreement, after assessing client satisfaction, summing up research. The main strategic and tactical areas in which one usually turns to operational consulting are identified: production facilities, personnel, semi-finished products and components, processes, planning and control. The choice of instruments for operational consulting has been substantiated
