Time to be the first
The Russian Foundation for basic research has summed up the results of the competition for the best basic research projects carried out by young scientists studying in postgraduate education. A total of 1,540 participants were supported, including Maria Kuznetsova, a postgraduate student at the Department of electric railways rolling stock at Omsk State Transport University (her research supervisor — doctor of technical sciences, Professor Vasily Cheremisin).
Maria Kuznetsova has presented to the commission a project on the topic of "Improvement of automated methods for diagnosing insulation of high-voltage transformers during operation".
Currently Vasily Cheremisin is guiding a postgraduate student Artem Perestenko. He is carrying out his project "Monitoring and reduction of power losses from electric rolling stock and power supply devices by analyzing large volumes of heterogeneous data by intelligent systems".
The goal of the competition for the best projects of fundamental research is to facilitate conditions for young scientists – postgraduates to prepare a dissertation for the degree of candidate of sciences, to assist in employment and to secure young scientists in Russian scientific organizations.
